See this gorgeous Bible? Well, there’s a story behind it.
Soooo, when bought my first Bible, I also saw this one at Barnes and Noble. I loved it right away. It is an adorable, pocket-sized, red HCSB Bible. I loved it! But I knew I should get a study bible for my first one. So I got a pink study HCSB. (I love HCSB, by the way. It’s an easy to understand, faithful translation. I suggest it to everyone!)
Anywho, Laura (subitaneous), Tom (pressingheaven), Jess, and I all went to Barnes and Noble yesterday, to pass the time until we got to see HEIDI BAKER. And of course, we went to the bible section. :P There was a lady there who was trying to decide on a good study bible. She introduced herself as Monet (Monay? Mone?) and we all got talking. Tom was suggesting Bibles and we kinda just sat around and talked. It was awesome!
While doing this, I was telling Laura that next time I get money (cause I’m broke XD), the first thing I’m buying is that little red pocket bible. Because I love mine, but it’s so fat and heavy! And I was looking at it, and then Monet said, “How much is it?” And I thought she wanted to buy it so I told her. And she just goes, “I’ll buy it for you.” And I wanted to cry. Here’s a lady that we had only been talking to for a half hour and I may never see again and she buys me a Bible. I didn’t want to take the offer at first, but she told us about how she used to hate taking gifts from others, but you just have to look at them as blessings from God. God bless her.
I’ll never forget that. Every time I look at this Bible, I’m inspired to give to others and it’s an amazing thing! Someday, I’ll pass this one on to another and tell them the story. So that’s my awesome Bible story of the day. Have a God filled evening guys!
